Lauren Block

Vice President

 

Lauren Block, MPA has more than twenty years of health care experience working primarily at the state and federal levels. She excels at helping clients design and implement new programs and ensuring that policy, operations, and communications priorities are strategically aligned. Lauren leads projects related to Medicaid policy design and implementation, stakeholder engagement, technical assistance, and strategic planning. She also oversees new business development and communications for the firm.  

Prior to joining Aurrera Health, Lauren worked at the National Governors Association Center for Best Practices, where she provided technical assistance and consulting services to states. Lauren supported states by facilitating dialogue across agencies, sectors, and with key stakeholders, aggregating best and promising practices, and providing policy subject matter expertise to senior state officials.  

Lauren also served in several key roles at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, most recently directing eligibility and enrollment policy at the Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight. In this role she led a 50-person team that established the infrastructure for the federal Marketplace and regulated state-based exchanges.  

Lauren holds a master’s degree in public administration from George Washington University and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Brandeis University. In her spare time, Lauren enjoys quilting and spending time with her family and rescue pups, Winston and Rufus.

Stephen Palacino
