Senior Policy Consultant
Courtney Cann, MPH is a Senior Policy Consultant on the Integrated Care team at Aurrera Health Group. She supports clients through project management and research activities and works with the California Department of Health Care Services on Behavioral Health Services Act initiatives.
Prior to joining Aurrera Health Group, Courtney worked as a senior research associate at NORC, a survey research organization, where she supported policy research, data analysis, and project coordination for an array of projects, ranging from monitoring Medicaid Managed Care Plans’ performance measurement data to reviewing states’ implementation of Medicaid state-directed payments. She has also supported survey work, collecting data and interviewing Californians regarding their access and experience with telehealth during and after the COVID-19 pandemic and their experience enrolling in Covered California health insurance plans during the Medi-Cal unwinding period. Prior to her work at NORC, Courtney worked as a neuroscience researcher at the National Institute on Drug Abuse, studying how substance use disorder affects learning and memory.
Courtney holds a master’s degree in public health from the University of Maryland and a bachelor’s degree in biobehavioral health from The Pennsylvania State University. Outside of work, Courtney enjoys outdoor activities like running, playing softball, paddleboarding, and hiking.
