Christina Chu

Christina Chu is a Policy Consultant with the Integrated Care team at Aurrera Health Group. Christina works on a variety of projects with the California Department of Health Care Services that support behavioral health policy in California, including the State Opioid Response.

Prior to joining Aurrera Health Group, Christina was a data and policy analyst where she supported the monitoring and evaluation of CMS value-based purchasing programs. She also previously worked on an academic clinical research team coordinating NIH studies on interventions promoting pre-exposure prophylaxis uptake at a HIV/STI safety net clinic. Christina supported a state-wide coalition with introducing a bill to the Rhode Island General Assembly that addressed confidentiality breaches with health insurance claims documentation deterring vulnerable populations including adolescents from seeking sexual health care services.

Christina is currently working towards her master's of public policy from the University of California, Riverside. As a graduate student, Christina completed a year-long Randall Lewis Health & Policy Fellowship at the Riverside County Office of Economic Development. She also worked as a Graduate Student Researcher at the Inland Center for Sustainable Development to study the impact of the logistics and warehousing sector on quality of life in the Inland Empire.

Christina has a bachelor’s degree from Brown University in health and human biology. She is committed to advance the social and economic well-being of marginalized communities through policy change and strengthen the U.S. social safety net. Christina is based in the Inland Empire of Southern California. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, jigsaw puzzles, and spending time with family and friends.
